Repurposing My Mother’s Art

4/25/2020

My artist life began long, long ago.

You see, my mother, whose name was Adele, was a talented artist and as a child my siblings and I didn’t know anything other than how to live life as an artist.

We grew up surrounded by art and creativity. How fortunate were we!!

During the last few weeks as I have spent time clearing and organizing some things at home, I stumbled upon several of my mother’s paper paintings.

I felt like the luckiest person in the world to have these priceless pieces.

You see, sometimes she would paint on regular brown paper which was abundant and inexpensive, although she didn’t realize that after many years, they would fall apart and become brittle.

Looking toward the future I thought how wonderful it would be to gather some of the pieces, put them together, and frame them which would be the best present I could give my grandchildren for Christmas.

That’s exactly what I’m going to show you in today’s short video.
